Candidate
A registrant who has been put forward for a placement position
Contract
A document setting out terms between two parties. For example IEA and the host employer (client)
Contractor
A person registered and currently employed through IEA’s employment and consulting services
Corrective and preventive action
Action taken to eliminate the causes of actual or potential non-conformities, and prevention of a re-occurrence
Employment services
Provision of records management and library personnel to clients for fixed-term contracts
Fixed-term contract
A document setting out terms between Information Enterprises Australia Pty Ltd – Employment and Consulting Services, the client and the contractor, for a specified time period
Group certificate
A certificate received at the end of the financial year by a salary or wage earner that shows how much they earned from each employer during the year and how much tax has been paid. In the case of contract employees, the Payment Summary has replaced Group Certificates. These are specific to the Labour Hire Industry
IEA personnel
Refers to members of the Employment Services Team and Consulting Services Team
Minimum leave entitlements
Because the work that you undertake for IEA is for a Fixed Term, the Minimum Leave Entitlements are calculated as part of your hourly rate (you are paid for the hours that you work - therefore the hourly rate is higher than if in full-time permanent work). The current rates are as follows: Sick Leave: 4%; Annual Leave: 7.7%; Bereavement Leave: 0.77%; Public Holiday Allowance: 4%. These figures are correct as of August 2006, but are subject to change. Please refer to your letter of appointment if you are unsure of the rates.
Non-conformance
A service that does not measure up to documented procedures or Client expectations
Payment summary
This form replaces the more traditional Group Certificate, and is specific to the Labour Hire Industry. It does contain all the necessary information that you will need in order to lodge your Tax Form with the ATO and will be sent out as close to the end of the financial year as possible
Record(s)
Any record of information however recorded and includes: (a) any thing on which there is writing or Braille; (b) a map, plan, diagram or graph; (c) a drawing, pictorial or graphic work, or photograph; (d) any thing on which there are figures, marks, perforations, or symbols, having a meaning for persons qualified to interpret them; (e) any thing from which images, sounds or writings can be reproduced with or without the aid of anything else; and (f) any thing on which information has been stored or recorded, either mechanically, magnetically or electronically. (Definition taken from AS ISO 15489: 2001)
