How many times have you heard the saying first impressions count, well every time you apply for a job you are testing this theory in the most fundamental way possible.
How many times have you applied for a job, addressed the selection criteria so that it’s specifically related to the job you are applying for, dashed off a covering letter to go with it, and then found a copy of the resume you wrote last year sometime, and then wondered why you didn’t get an interview?
Funny isn’t it, you spend hours making sure you know everything you need to know about the company you want to work for, but let yourself down time and time again when it comes to making sure that the information they see about you is up to date, accurate and most importantly of all makes any potential employer want to appoint you.
- Does your resume allow potential employers to quickly and easily see that you are the best candidate for the job?
- Does your resume tell a potential employer what your strengths are, and why they should be demanding that you attend an interview, because they want you to join their team?
Or is your resume simply a list of jobs you’ve had since leaving school?
Re-writing a resume can take a lot of time and effort, but the rewards for doing so will be huge. Imagine being able to choose which position you would rather take, rather than having to take any job that’s offered to you. Information Enterprises Australia Pty Ltd (IEA) offers a competitive rate for writing or re-vamping your CV and/or Resume. To find out how we can help you, please contact our offices.
