Consulting Services
The provision of records and information management (RIM) consulting services is one of the core business solutions offered by Information Enterprises Australia Pty Ltd (IEA). Our services include (but are not limited to):
- The evaluation, design and implementation of library and records management systems, including Electronic Document and Records Management Systems (EDRMS);
- Development of Record Keeping Plans (RKP's), Retention and Disposal Schedules, Thesauruses, Taxonomies, Policy and Procedure Manuals and Strategy papers, Knowledge Management Strategies and Business Case Developments;
- Business information disaster recovery and contingency planning;
- Project management and support;
- Health checks and reviews of paper and electronic records and filing systems.

Records Management Health Check:
The Records Management Health Check is designed to review and verify current systems against compliant records management as prescribed using best practice guidelines, especially the State Records Act 2000; ISO 15489; and the State Records Commission’s Principles and Standards 2002.
During the Records Management Health Check the Consultant undertakes the following (if required):
- Review of the organisations Record Keeping Plan (RKP);
- Reviews the current records management systems, processes and tools to gauge compliance to the State Records Act 2000 and the State Records Commission Principles and Standards 2002;
- Interviews relevant stakeholders, as required, to gain the knowledge of how current records management systems are operating;
- Development of a report which outlines the current status of records management within the organisation and provides corrective actions required.
Help Desk Support Service:
The Help Desk Support service allows the Records and Information Officer access to IEA’s Senior Records Management Consultant via on site, telephone and email contact. The aim of this service is to allow clients the opportunity to seek advice and guidance on any queries in regards to the records management system.
Much like a maintenance contract on a piece of office equipment, the annual support contract has a one off annual fee paid at the commencement of the service. The Help Desk service is calculated on a 12 month contract and can be purchased in blocks of 10, 20 or 30 hours.
Compliance Health Check Review:
We can provide an independent review of your records management system, procedures and documentation to ensure that your system complies with the State Records Act 2000, or if you would simply like to know if your system follows the industry standards and best practice guidelines then please contact our offices to make an appointment.
Government Record Implementation Program:
Under the W.A. State Records Act 2000, public sector agencies must implement a compliant record keeping system. For regional public sector agencies, especially local governments that do not have records management staff this task is particularly problematic. IEA has developed a support package to assist organisations do just that. We can review your existing system, provide onsite training and key point consulting. We also offer a 12-month telephone help desk package to ensure that all agencies are supported.
