Lorraine Bradshaw(AALIA, Bachelor of Library Studies) is an experienced information professional with a record of achievement in the management of Library and Information Services in both the private and public sectors.
Having worked in the Library & Information Industry for over 20 years in a variety of organisations including academia, government and the corporate sector, Lorraine has extensive knowledge of the provision of core library services to a wide audience.
She is an expert searcher and has provided online search and alerting services using commercial databases as well as the Internet, the Invisible Web and Corporate Intranets. Lorraine also has extensive experience with Acquisitions of all print and non-print media, Cataloguing, Inter Library Loans, Journal management and Marketing & Promotion.
Lorraine's expertise lies in the creation of new library services. As a professional librarian the opportunity to create a new library and information service is the ultimate challenge. Lorraine has created two very different and very unique corporate libraries. With project management high on the agenda, Lorraine designed new databases, created cataloguing and classification schemes, wrote all policies and procedures including the collection management policy as well as writing thesauruses, surveys and conducting all staff training in the new systems.
