Lorraine Bradshaw (AALIA, Bachelor of Library Studies), is the editor of the Australian Record Retention Manual (ARRM) and the author of Information Overload,IEA's free monthly e-zine covering library, records, information and business management issues, and The First 4 Minutes: Understanding the Selection and Interview Process. Lorraine also looks after IEA's web site and the marketing and promotion of IEA's activities including training.

Lorraine holds a Bachelor of Library Studies from Loughborough University of Technology (1992) in the UK. Encompassing archives, records management, library studies and publishing, Lorraine has a broad insight into the information management industry. Lorraine is an Associate Member of the Australian Library & Information Association (ALIA).

Born in the UK, Lorraine began her professional career at the Pilkington Library, Loughborough University of Technology in 1983. During her 10-year career in academia, she gained her qualifications and her real world experience working in every department and helped to beta test the first relational databases Loughborough had seen.

In 1994 Lorraine moved into the corporate sector and spent the next 2 years working as an information scientist for a pharmaceutical company, where her expertise in online searching was utilised. Lorraine was also responsible for the purchasing of all new materials for the on-site staff, as well as handling the Inter Library Loans.

In 1996, Lorraine migrated to Perth with her family. Recognising the need for industry experience in an Australian environment, Lorraine joined IEA as a contract librarian, and spent the next 5 years in a number of challenging roles, and was responsible for the creation and implementation of two new and very different corporate libraries, and drew on all her industry experience, including database design, technical writing and marketing and promotion, whilst at the same time handling the day-to-day running of the information services. In 2001, Lorraine joined the team at IEA, where she was able to view the contract procedure from the other side.

Working under the leadership and direction of Shirley Cowcher, Lorraine has added the new skills of people and project management to her corporate profile.
